Occasional rain should continue across the central and southern Plains and adjacent Rockies into Saturday, followed by the return of dry weather. From Texas to southern and eastern Nebraska, additional rainfall could total 1 to 3 inches. Rain will also fall across parts of the Midwest, with the highest totals (locally 1 to 2 inches) occurring from Missouri to Ohio. Meanwhile, little or no rain will fall during the next 5 days in the southern Atlantic region, as well as a broad area stretching from California to the northern High Plains.
