Drought conditions impacted weed control in southern Minnesota.

Andy Bakken of Albert Lea says he caught a couple of rains early in the growing season.

“After we planted our corn and soybeans, and (the rain) activated our chemical. You didn’t have to go very far (where) they didn’t get any rain and it didn’t activate the chemical (so) they had issues with emergence and with weeds.”

He tells Brownfield there was not much disease or insect pressure this summer.
