North-Central Nebraska farmer Anne Meis says nearly perfect growing conditions have led to their best soybean harvest. “We’ll see a 5-10 percent better yield than last year,” she says. “These are the best yields that we’ve seen since we’ve been farming for 35 years.”
The latest crop progress report from the USDA says soybean harvest is 18 percent behind last year at 60 percent complete with 75 percent of the crop rated good-to-excellent.
