The Innovations Center for U.S. Dairy has recently released its biennial sustainability report highlighting accomplishments and partnerships during 2019 and 2020.
During that timeframe, the industry developed the U.S. Dairy Stewardship Commitment to advance sustainability and transparently report progress. More than 30 cooperatives and processors have signed on to the commitment representing nearly three-quarters of the milk supply.
The sustainability report also outlines progress by processors to reduce waste and emissions aggregating data against Stewardship Commitment metrics which will serve as a baseline for future reports tracking sustainability efforts.
