West Central Indiana farmer Kevin Cox says this year’s crop has exceeded his expectations and yields are at “once in a lifetime” levels.
“We’ve been able to see 15-20 percent on the average of better yields than we’ve experienced in the past especially on our averages, and some fields have been considerably even more than that,” he says. “To see the kind of levels that we’ve been able to produce shows us that the ground is capable of that it just goes back to the thing we can’t control and depend on the most and that’s weather.”
Cox tells Brownfield weather conditions were just right.
