Michigan State University Extension educators located in the central region of the state say a rare pest resurgence has been reported with this year’s delayed frosts.
Monica Jean says there’s not much to be done in cover crops for second-generation armyworms but if found in early planted wheat fields, farmers should consider pest management options.
“It is not common, this is like a one in 60- or 70-year occurrence,” she says.
