An ag economist says his early acreage projections are pointing to corn still being a favorable option despite higher fertilizer costs.
David Widmar with Ag Economic Insights tells Brownfield even with corn’s cost structure set to increase next year, the crop still has a profitable outlook.
“What about the corn-soybean price ratio,” Widmar said. “That has shifted considerably to really start to favor corn more than soybeans, more than we’ve seen in the past.
