The USDA has declared three disasters across Michigan and is offering FSA emergency assistance following extreme weather events this year.

Farmers in Allegan, Berrien, Cass, Cheboygan, Ottawa, and Presque Isle Counties as well as 12 contiguous counties in Michigan and three in Indiana are now able to apply for emergency assistance because of frost and freeze events this spring.

Farmers in Chippewa, Huron, Luce, and Mackinac Counties suffering from drought from May onward, along with six contiguous counties, received disaster designations.
