For the remainder of Friday into Saturday, a slow-moving storm system will deliver heavy rain and high winds across parts of the eastern U.S. Some of the storm’s most significant impacts will be related to tidal flooding in the middle Atlantic States, where coastal waters could reach their highest levels since Hurricane Isabel in September 2003.

Later in the weekend, more tranquil weather will return across the East. By early next week, chilly air trailing a cold front’s passage will result in the coldest weather of the season in many parts of the country, particularly across the Plains and Midwest.
