A Central Kansas farmer who recently wrapped up harvest says Mother Nature created challenges during the growing season.

Keith Miller farms 10,000 acres of diversified crops in Barton County. “We got hot and dry right when they were setting pods.  If we got a shot of rain, they were pretty decent, if we didn’t they weren’t very good at all. When I say no good at all, we cut some that were 10 bushels.”

The latest crop progress report says soybeans are almost three quarters harvested and 90 percent of corn is in.
