Farmers are less optimistic about the ag economy amid rising input prices, according to the latest Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer.

“The single biggest factor is the tremendous run-up in cost we’re experiencing,” he says. “The obvious one has been what’s taking place with fertilizer values. Fertilizer prices compared to a year ago have more than doubled.
