There’s likely one last window for soybean harvest in Michigan.

Mike Staton with Michigan State University Extension tells Brownfield above normal temperatures and below-normal precipitation is in the forecast through about the 11th.

“It more important to get the beans out of the field at this time in the growing season,” he says.  “The field drying conditions outside of that outlook are not very promising.”

He says farmers can harvest when moisture levels are less than 20 percent and ideally equipment isn’t leaving ruts and production problems for next year.
