Direct cash cattle trade activity is very quiet at midday.  There are some asking prices that have surfaced around $128 in the South, while the North has been quiet.  There could be a little business develop today, but significant trade volume will likely hold out until midweek or later. 

Boxed beef was higher at midday on good demand for light offerings.  Choice is $1.54 higher at $289.12 and Select is $1.97 higher at $266.36.  The Choice/Select spread is $22.76.
