The National Farmers Union expects the recently passed infrastructure bill to help pave the way for the Biden administration’s climate goals.
NFU vice president of advocacy Mike Stranz calls the legislation a necessary step for bigger things to come.
“There’s a lot of investment in water infrastructure intended to address droughts, which we are seeing more frequently and with greater severity. It also puts money toward wildfire mitigation and how those are also made worse by the changing climate.”
He tells Brownfield the reconciliation package being debated in Congress had no chance of progressing without the infrastructure bill having a path forward as well.
