Larry Peters, 70, of Marshalltown, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at home under the care of Iowa River Hospice surrounded by his loving family.

Services for Larry will take place on Thursday, November 11 at 10:30 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at the Bangor Friends Cemetery following the service. Friends and family are also invited to a visitation Wednesday evening, November 10 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Larry was born on November 27, 1950 in Marshalltown to parents Loren and Arleta (McDonald) Peters. He graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1969. Larry and the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” Evertsen were united in marriage on Labor Day weekend, September 4, 1971 at Grace United Methodist Church. Together they made their home in Marshalltown, where they raised their two children. Hardworking, Larry dedicated over 40 years to working at Lennox Industries, where he eventually retired. In his free time, he loved watching NASCAR, morel mushroom hunting and fishing. Easy-going and loving, Larry loved spending time with his family more than anything else.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 50 years, Pat; his children: Loren (Jenessa) Peters of Bangor and Lindsey (Aaron) Grimm of Clinton; two granddaughters: Payton and Savannah Peters; his sister, Lorna (Steve) Finch; sister-in-law, Shirley (Don) Davis; brothers-in-law: Mike (Barb) Evertsen and Gary Evertsen; his aunt, Darlene Peters; three double cousins and many other cousins and several nieces and nephews, including special caretaker, niece, Stacy Finch.

In death, Larry is reunited with his parents, Loren and Arleta; his in-laws: Rudy and Dorothy Evertsen and several aunts and uncles.
