Corn exports to Mexico are outpacing a year ago.

U.S Grains Council senior director of global programs Cary Sifferath says it’s one of the major markets and is currently ahead of last year’s record pace.

“So we’re extremely happy to have our good customers to the South continue to buy.”

He tells Brownfield there have already been two flash sales involving Mexico this week.

“Where USDA puts out announcements when a single destination is buying over 100,000 tons of corn per-day.”

Sifferath says Mexico also purchased corn for the next marketing year as its livestock sector expands.
