Cash cattle trade is mostly quiet across the country with a few asking prices coming in around $134 plus in the South. Asking prices haven’t been established in the North. Its likely significant trade volume will hold out until Midweek or later. Deals last week had a full range of $125 to $132, mostly $132, which was $3 higher than the previous week’s weighted averages. Northern dressed business ranged from $204 to $209, mostly $207, $4 higher than the prior week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
Boxed beef cutout values are lower at midday, choice is 15 cents lower at $283.05 and select is $1.11 lower at $266.17.
