Fifteen Republican governors (including Mike Parson of Missouri, Pete Ricketts of Nebraska, Kim Reynolds of Iowa, Mike DeWine of Ohio, Doug Burgum of North Dakota) have signed on to “Operation Open Roads” to help ease the flow of commerce under the backlogs in the supply chain.
They say they will use their authority, where allowed, to modify weight, size and load restrictions to let more cargo move, adjust hours of service constraints for truck drivers, deregulate license barriers to get more commercial truck drivers on the road and increase data sharing among shippers and receivers at ports.
