For the remainder of Monday into Tuesday, a cold front traversing and exiting the eastern U.S. will provide the focus for scattered showers. Briefly heavy rain may fall along the Atlantic Seaboard, especially in eastern Maine. In the front’s wake, cooler conditions and gusty winds will briefly affect the Great Lakes and Northeastern States. By Thanksgiving Day, however, mild weather will cover much of the country, except for another surge of chilly air into the Midwest.
