A leader in carbon markets says U.S. farmers are receiving some of the first-ever carbon credits this year.
Ryan Stockwell is with Indigo Ag and says these growers started sequestering carbon last year. “This carbon credit market is developing and taking off and some growers are starting to benefit from participating.”
He tells Brownfield may farmers are considering the payoff from entering into carbon contracts. “What we’re seeing is significant demand on the part of businesses looking to buy carbon credits as well as significant participation on the part of growers,” he says.
