The National Alfalfa and Forage Alliance has released its 2022 alfalfa variety ratings.
Alliance president Beth Nelson says the scores account for winter survival, fall dormancy, and pest resistance.
“As well as multi-foliate expression, continuous grazing tolerance, standability expression. Then if a variety is one of the GMO traits, either Roundup Ready or HarvXtra, that will be noted.”
The 2022 edition features 178 alfalfa varieties from 16 marketers verified by the Association of Official Seed Certifying Agencies and the National Alfalfa Variety Review Board.
