As Missouri’s ag industry continues its recovery from the coronavirus pandemic an ag economist says it creates an interesting scenario for 2022.

University of Missouri’s Scott Brown says the industry is coming through the next stage of the pandemic.  “Supply chains remain tight in many cases that have drive prices higher,” he says.  “We’re going to have to watch that as we go into 2022.  And we’re having to watch what happens on the consumer side of the equation.”

He tells Brownfield risk management will be even more important in the coming year.  “We’ve just had continued volatility on both input prices as well as output prices,” he says.
