During the next several days, mild, dry weather will cover most of the country, including large sections of the Plains, western Corn Belt, southern Atlantic States, and an area stretching from central and southern California to the southern Rockies. Across the northern U.S., a more active pattern will develop, with accumulating snow expected between December 4-6 from northern North Dakota to northern Maine. Farther south, weekend rainfall could total an inch or more from the mid-South into the Ohio Valley.
