Congress has reauthorized Livestock Mandatory Reporting through a continuing resolution that passed late Thursday night.
Ashely Kohls with the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association tells Brownfield LMR is critical for price discovery and transparency for producers. “For those numbers to go away, it would do the exact opposite of what we’re trying to do with a lot of these efforts and legislation.”
LMR is usually reauthorized every five-years but has been operating on multiple one-year extensions.
