Wisconsin Farm Bureau looks back at 2021 successes and ahead at issues affecting farmers.
Wisconsin Farm Bureau President Kevin Krentz tells Brownfield there were significant actions… and inactions this year. “From the NR151 (runoff management) updates that the DNR was pushing through all the way up to last Friday and the ag export bill that passed and was signed into law.”
Krentz says the state’s NR151 water quality proposals offered by the DNR have expired and must start from scratch. The new export assistance law marks the first time the state has budgeted money to help improve Wisconsin agricultural exports.
