Later Wednesday, generally light rain will gradually end across the Southeast. Meanwhile, a pair of Pacific storms will approach the West Coast. The initial storm will traverse the western U.S. before reaching the central Plains on Friday and crossing the Great Lakes region during the weekend. A band of snow, stretching from the Sierra Nevada and Intermountain West into the upper Midwest, will accompany the storm, while late-week rainfall could total an inch or more across the eastern one-third of the U.S.
