The U.S. Dairy Export Council and National Milk Producers Federation say they commend the U.S. House for passing the Ocean Shipping Reform Act.
The legislation is designed to help alleviate delays in shipping U.S. goods to foreign markets like Asia, which have been difficult to supply as American producers struggle with high fees and empty containers being rushed back to China.
USDEC President and CEO Krysta Harden says her group worked to generate broad bipartisan support for the legislation, and the vote shows the urgency of the issue and the need for reform.
