Direct cash cattle trade is off to a quiet start following the light to moderate business that took place on Thursday.  It’s likely the bulk of the week’s trade has wrapped up, but there could be a little cleanup business take place before the end of the day.  Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are at $142 plus live in the South and $222 plus dressed in the North.  So far this week live deals in Kansas and Texas have ranged from $138 to mostly $140, $2 lower than last week’s business.
