Inflation and supply chain disruptions are affecting the price of some crop inputs more than others.

Minnesota Corn Growers president Bryan Biegler, who farms in southwest Minnesota, tells Brownfield while fertilizer prices have tripled, seed costs are comparable to a year ago.

“It seems like the seed costs are definitely on the lower side of everything, (but) some of the chemicals are getting higher. With Roundup, every time I look it seems to be going up in price (because of) a shortage on that.”

He says the price of Liberty herbicide has more than doubled.
