Direct cash cattle trade is off to a quiet start with buyers and sellers busy taking inventory. Bids and asking prices have yet to be established. Look for significant trade volume to take place midweek or later. The majority of last week’s business took place on Wednesday and Thursday with just a little cleanup business on Friday. Southern live business had a full range of $138 to $140, mostly $140, generally $2 lower than the previous week’s weighted averages.
