A slow-moving Pacific storm will move across the western U.S. Tuesday, delivering drought relief in the form of coastal and valley rain, as well as high-elevation snow. Although the heaviest precipitation (locally 5 to 10 inches) will fall in the Sierra Nevada, showers will briefly affect southern California and the Southwest. A second, but weaker, Pacific storm will trail the first, with some additional precipitation falling in the West around the middle of the week.
