Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures nationwide, except for warmer-than-normal weather along and southeast of a line from the lower Rio Grande Valley to New Jersey.
Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions across the north-central U.S., including the northern half of the Plains and the upper Midwest.
