At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were pressured by the week’s lower cash business and the lower trend in boxed beef. December live cattle closed $.62 lower at $136.52 and April live cattle closed $.35 lower at $140.60. January feeder $2.32 lower at $160.25 and March feeder cattle closed $2.62 lower at $161.70.
It was a relatively quiet Friday for direct cash cattle trade. Some scattered cleanup business was reported with live deals at $136 and dressed deals at $218 to $219, both are fully in the range with the week’s previous business.
