At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were lower ahead of widespread direct cash business and the continued slide in boxed beef prices. February live cattle closed $.45 lower at $135.97 and April live cattle closed $.42 lower at $140.17. January feeder cattle closed $1.02 lower at $!59.22 and March feeders closed $1.20 lower at $160.50.
It was a quiet start to the week for direct cash cattle trade activity. Bids and asking prices are yet to surface.
