A developing storm system over the northern Gulf of Mexico will cross Florida’s peninsula late Tuesday. Early-week rainfall could reach 1 to 2 inches or more across the lower Southeast, especially from northern Florida to the coastal Carolinas. Meanwhile, a new Pacific storm system will result in a multi-day precipitation event in the Pacific Coast States. Five-day precipitation totals should exceed 5 inches in numerous locations across the Cascades and Sierra Nevada, as well as coastal ranges in northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
