The USDA says red meat and poultry stocks declined during November, at least partially indicating good holiday retail demand.
The total amount of red meat in cold storage totaled 927.807 million pounds, a decrease of 4% on the year, with beef also down 4% to 493.318 million and pork 3% lower at 406.718 million pounds.
Poultry was reported at 886.015 million pounds, a drop of 18%, with chicken 16% lower at 740.837 million and turkey falling 26% to 142.368 million pounds.
