A very quiet Thursday for direct cash cattle trade activity.  With the holiday-shortened week, it’s likely the bulk of the week’s business has wrapped up, even with the low trade volume.  A few bids have surfaced at $135 live and $217 dressed.  Deals this week have been at $135 live in both the South and the North, which is $1 to $3 below the previous week’s weighted average basis and $218 dressed in the North, also about $2 below last week’s weighted averages basis in Nebraska.
