A Western Corn Belt farmer says he is optimistic for the next growing season even though he expects to face many of the same challenges.
Michael Bergen, who farms in South Central Nebraska, says commodity prices are favorable, but “we’re going to have some challenges, some logistical challenges and some issues with fertilizer, equipment availability and parts availability,” Bergen says. “We’re not sure how long this is going to be down the pipeline that we’re going to have to deal with.”
He tells Brownfield he’s managing the uncertainty as best as he can.
