Direct cash cattle trade is off to a quiet start for the week as buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory.  Bids and asking prices have yet to be established.  It’s likely significant trade volume will be delayed until midweek or later.  Last week’s business took place mostly on Tuesday and Wednesday with dressed deals at mostly $200 to $222, $3 to $5 higher than the prior week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.  Live deals were at mostly $138, $3 higher than the previous week’s business.
