The president of the National Corn Growers Association says they’re excited to see the USDA’s Risk Management Agency roll out a supplemental insurance policy for split-applied nitrogen on non-irrigated corn.
Chris Edgington of Iowa tells Brownfield they’ve been using the practice – which comes with some risk – for 20 years, brought on by a big rain event.
“For the most part it is simply another way to try and put the right product in the right place at the right time.
