Quiet weather will prevail across much of the nation for the remainder of the week. In fact, 5-day precipitation totals exceeding an inch should be limited to Florida’s peninsula and the Pacific Northwest, as well as snow squall-prone locations downwind of the Great Lakes. Rainfall may become excessive and trigger mid-week flooding in western Washington. In contrast, negligible precipitation will fall during the next 5 days across the Plains and much of the South, along with California and the Great Basin.
