A significant precipitation event in the Pacific Northwest will continue into Thursday, followed by the return of tranquil weather. However, given western Washington’s high snow levels and saturated soils, the threat of flooding will persist until heavy precipitation ends. As the Northwestern storm moves inland, snowy, windy conditions should develop by Friday across portions of the northern and eastern Plains, and Midwest. Subsequently, the storm system should track southeastward across the mid-South, where disruptive snow may fall early in the weekend.
