The USDA says it’s investing $9-Million dollars in new partnerships to bolster climate research.
The competitive grants through the National Institute of Food and Agriculture are aimed at six projects working toward net-zero emissions in agriculture.
They include a ($1.5M) grant to Ohio State University which is partnering with the Midwest Climate Hub and other universities to increase adoption of scalable climate-smart activities. The project will improve the understanding of needs among Midwest stakeholders, develop roadmaps for livestock and cropping systems, elevate views of underserved communities and strengthen climate science infrastructure.
