The Missouri Soybean Association’s high oleic soybean trait opened its first contract growing program.

Missouri Soy’s Bryan Stobaugh tells Brownfield Perdue AgriBusiness is contracting with growers around the east coast.

“The way Perdue was set up, everything is on the East Coast; that is why they’re focusing there,” he said. “…Right now, as we are developing more lines coming out of university programs, we will be launching more segments.”

He said the move is a large benchmark for the soyleic trait ahead of its commercial launch in 2023.
