The Chair of the Senate Ag Committee and her staff are outlining how infrastructure funding approved by Congress will be utilized.

Debbie Stabenow of Michigan says nearly $480 million to modernize the Soo Locks in the Great Lakes will hopefully prevent an unforeseen closure across the region.

“There’s one lock that allows freighters to come in from the St. Lawrence Seaway, bringing in raw materials or finished products, grain—it affects agriculture, manufacturing,” she explains.
