Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of colder-than-normal conditions across the northern and eastern U.S., while near- or above-normal temperatures will prevail from Oregon and California eastward to the central and southern Plains.
Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation in the East and from central and southern California to the southern High Plains should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather across the remainder of the country, including the Mississippi Valley, eastern and northern Plains, and the Northwest.
