Increased precipitation is having an impact on ag in Tennessee.

The USDA says about 40% of the state has surplus soil moisture levels, many fields are flooded, and while pastures are generally in fair shape, there are concerns about wet weather impact in the coming weeks.

37% of the Tennessee’s pastures and rangelands are in good to excellent condition, 6% lower than at the end of December, with 67% of Tennessee’s cattle rated good to excellent, 4% lower, and 85% of producers have adequate to surplus hay and roughage, 7% less than last month.
