Recovery from the weekend blizzard will continue this week along the northern Atlantic Coast. In many other parts of the country, a rather tranquil spell of weather will end as the week progresses. In fact, a significant winter storm will unfold across portions of the central and southern Plains, mid-South, and lower Midwest, starting on Tuesday night and continuing into Friday. The multi-day storm could result in significant accumulations of snow and ice, with the highest snowfall totals expected to occur in the southern Rockies and from portions of Kansas and northern Oklahoma into northern New England.
