Light out of the gate trade is being reported in the South at $140, around $4 higher than last week’s weighted averages. The North has been quiet after light trade at $222 yesterday but scattered trade is expected the rest of the week. Asking prices are $140 plus in the South and $224 plus in the North.

Boxed beef values are lower at midday. Choice is $1.09 lower at $282.06 and select is $2.43 lower at $277.14.
