A soybean specialist is recommending farmers select strong genetic varieties to help curb supply challenges this year.

Shawn Conley with the University of Wisconsin-Madison tells Brownfield with limited input availability, choosing varieties that have a larger management portfolio can be beneficial.

“Depending on the year and if white mold was a problem that year, we see a range from $100 to $500 of revenue lost just on genetic selection alone,” he says.
